Working with cultural spaces, festivals, artists and brands that just get it.

Soft knits, strong values

  • All the FLINTA fun

Did you know only 5% of booked DJs worldwide are women? We see craft as a way of reclaiming the cultural power of textile traditions and creating space for new voices around the table.

That’s why we mostly collaborate with FLINTA DJs, artists and creatives within our events and collaborations.

  • Sustainability

No fast fash around here. We’re into slow making, shared rides, second-hand finds and giving old materials a second life.

Think vintage crochet blankets, cargo bikes and reusing whatever you can before buying something new.

  • LGBTQI+ safe space

Fiber arts has long been shaped by women, queer people and marginalized communities - often at their intersections.

At Knits and Notes, we strive to make our space feel open, welcoming all types of expression and safe for all.

  • Accessibility

From adventurous knitters to complete beginners, our community brings together people of different ages, backgrounds and creative practices.

Our events are always wheelchair accessible, and we reserve free tickets for people who can’t afford one.

Craft, culture and community

Knits and Notes is a creative community where textiles, music and culture come together. We meld together handicraft, music, art, design and storytelling through immersive events, workshops and collaborations.

Rooted in Amsterdam, the platform creates spaces for making, listening, sharing and experimenting together - exploring the intersections of textiles, nightlife, community and contemporary art.

we can't wait to see you at our next event <3

I’m a bit shy about coming alone, is there some sort of buddy system?

Stepping out by yourself can be scary sometimes, we totally understand. However, our events are designed to be fun for people coming by themselves or with others, since you always have one thing in common with other visitors: crafting!

At many of our events, you can find a community crafting table, making it easier for you to interact and possibly, make new friends. In any case, our team is always there to show you the ropes and introduce you to other crafters.

I don’t knit or crochet, can I still come?

Yes! There are always people around to help you get started and extra (second-hand) materials to use.
Or you can just enjoy the rest of the programming and get inspired by other crafters.

Can you only knit at the events? Or are other crafts also welcome?

We definitely encourage all kinds of crafts at our events!

At previous events people brought knitting, crochet and felting projects - someone even brought their portable loom once!
